Free aircraft and something about reworks

If the Airbus aircraft ever get reworks or something done to them, here is what I think

A380 is a free aircraft, if it gets a rework it should stay free, or we are just cheating on people who only fly free aircraft. Unfortunately the 787 9, when it got its rework it didn’t stay free, it became paid however the A321 stayed free.
If you bought the old A340 and a rework comes out that is paid, you get the new one for free because you paid for the old one.
I think this is the way reworks should be and also we need more free aircraft.

Kind regards
Elpo

I’m having a very hard time understanding this…

This should not be in features as it is not a feature request

He means if you already purchased the A340 as it is now, and in future it gets an update, you won’t have to pay for it again because you’ve already bought it. ;-)

That’s the thing…

Why would you have to pay for an aircraft again just because it got reworked? I don’t think that’s how IF works… Am I missing something?

In my honest opinion, I think reworked aircraft are going to be paid in future sadly. The quality of the aircraft can kick up a profit, like the 787 did. But then again, I may be wrong. Like I was about the 787-9 variant being free. ;-P

I think it was like that with the 777. It got a physics and livery update and people didn’t have to pay for it… they just downloaded it for free, as they’ve had it as a one time purchase or as part of a Live subscription. And although the A321 was free when it had the old physics/look, it you could still download it no problem.

Exactly.

Before, the 777-300ER was $5. After the physics update, all you had to do was download it again. For free, because you already paid for it. I don’t see the point of this topic, as it was always that way.

I’m sure the developers will offer some free aircraft in the future.

You have to understand the immense amount of detail and work that goes in these aircraft, especially the more recent ones. The resources the developers use to have these high quality details are not cheap. They have to pay for these services and the only way for them to do so, is to charge for aircraft and other in-app purchases.

Plus, no one works for free. ;)

I think he’s trying to say keep the A380 free if it gets reworked. I kind of agree on that, because lots of people (Mainly on TS1) love the A380 so much! If it just suddenly went paid, it would be Burning Pitchforks and Taunting like the 787 update. The A380 is a popular aircraft on IF, because it’s free and its a commercial jet (Which sadly more people are interested in. RIP GA and Military). I don’t care if things are paid or not. I have a Live+ subscription and I will keep paying for it. ;-)

This is of complete rework overhauls, not just physics updates and new liveries

Like the A320 family

Free aircraft are a bit too much to ask about at the moment. Because if you have ever seen the cockpit of the reworked 787s and A320s plus the Dash 8, you will be able to see how much time it would take to create just the screens and all the switches. Also the upcoming MD-11 and DC-10, if you have seen the post on Instagram about those you will be able to see how detailed the cockpit is! For a plane like that anything that costs $7.99 (AUD) is really cheap and amazing!

And not to mention you can download it free on Live+ or have it as a one time purchase.

Although, I honestly think the developers should sometimes give free content with updates, as someone who spends $8 on a Simulator doesn’t want to spend another $8 on a plane.

Finally, thanks for clearing that up. You should mention that in the original topic.

Anyways, this is a good idea. Say if the MD-11 releases, you get one variant for free:

DC-10 Paid
DC-10F Paid
MD-11 Free
MD-11F Paid

An offer such as “Buy two, get the third for free” is a good idea. They have it a lot at supermarkets in Australia, in particular, discount ones and that’s what makes them thrive.

Just look at how detailed the plane is!

Even opening cargo doors ;)

If there was going to be one that would be free, it would be the plane with lesser liveries than the rest. Although, I thought it was going to be like that with the AC-130. Got quite disappointed that the spectre costed $8 for one livery, that should’ve been free.
