Forum Groups

We all know that forum moderators, forum staff, and forum admins have groups. I was thinking, what if we used this feature to it’s full potential? We could have groups for a multitude of things. For example, we could have a group for airport editors. You could summon the airport editors using @airporteditors. That way we don’t need to individually tag all the airport editors. We could also have a group for IFATC recruiters, and they would be tagged using @recruiters.

This would be easy for airport editors. The user can tag us using @airporteditors and one of us would check it out and fix/add to issues.

Great idea.

Who would manage all that? It would be way too much for the moderators to handle. :/

That tag doesn’t give a notification to our inbox. I feel a better way to achieve what you want would be custom badges. You can click on the badge to show everyone with that badge.

Ah… I guess that won’t work. Are you sure Philippe didn’t disable group tagging in the forum settings or something? Anyway, would these custom badges have any sort of purpose other than for show?

Would be a smart thing for sure

I like this idea, you don’t have to go tagging lots of people. For example I don’t use the moderator tag so I just call for Carson. What if Carson isn’t on but another mod is (not that it would happen)?

Would be better than tagging Kilt McHaggis all the time. Can get quicker response from any airport editor

No notifications from groups, custom badges would be great but those don’t notify either.
