Flying VFR around North Luzon

I felt like not flying high at FL280+, so I just decided to fly VFR instead, departing Lipa Airport (RPUL) in Batangas, going around Greater Manila Area, Pampanga where I meet Mt. Arayat — an isolated stratovolcano, Zambales with their Ephemeral rivers, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet with vast mountains ranging as high as 9000ft, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and lastly Isabela: doing one touch and go and then land at Cauayan Airport (RPUY). I decided to take the Cessna C208 on this trip today. Unfortunately there’s no SkyPasada livery in Infinite Flight, so I just took a random one.

Mt. Arayat in Pampanga, just northeast of Clark International Airport. It is an isolated stratovolcano, far away from other mountains.

The 2 rivers leading up to Mt. Pinatubo in Zambales, namely Pasig-Potrero and Sacobia.

The rivey valley, namely Bucao in Zambales.

Other rivers leading also to Mt. Pinatubo’s crater, also in Zambales since these mountain ranges are located there.

Somewhere near Daang Kalikasan, and where the hills start calming down in Zambales.

Welcome to Pangasinan, 5 nautical miles to the starboard is Dagupan.

Now currently at Benguet, in the Cordillera Mountain Ranges.

Overflying the Municipality of Bokod, still in Benguet.

Mt. Pulag just behind, peaking at 9600ft MSL, also in Benguet.

Exited the Cordillera Region, and have reached the Isabela province a part of the Cagayan Valley — now descending for Cauayan Airport.

Final image, landing at Cauayan Airport, with the Cordillera Mountain Ranges far in the back.

Thanks for reading!

Nice shots and commentary! I really like when someone takes the time to showcase scenery with such focus.

Oddly, I was actually thinking about Mt. Pinatubo a couple days ago, in relation to volcanic eruptions, and considering checking it out in IF. And then here you are!

I also really like your first shot with the volcanic cone of Mt. Arayat.
