Today, we will be flying to Uluru, arguably THE Australian icon. Yulara, the nearest town, has a small airstrip, however, no ils so landing will be tricky.
We arrived at the airport at 5AM and breezed through check-in- then found out our flight had been delayed 
Boarding in Melbourne. Seats, as I’ve already mentioned in my previous trip report, are rather cramped but not too uncomfortable. Unfortunately we’re in this flying metal tube for 2h 30min…
Blasting out of Melbs!
On our cruise, we were treated to a beautiful vista of the sun shining dawn light onto the earth as the scenery became well and truly Outback.
I spent most of the flight reading a book I picked up in Melbourne: The Oldest Foods on Earth, an interesting read about Aboriginal foods.

Greasing the landing 
Parked on the apron. This was overall a very pleasant flight- the scenery more than made up for the uncomfortable seat!
We’ll spend 5 days (including today and departure day) in Yulara, with sunset viewing of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta, scenic hikes, and the Base Walk at Uluru. We’re certainly looking forward to admiring Uluru as the sun sets- it’s supposed to be a magical experience, but certainly better experienced in person Thanks for reading, and have a great day ahead.
