If you’re inbound to Manchester better bring up extra fuel youll be on a hold for a while . as i am writing this message currently on hold.
Yeah I normally don’t fly “in” to LHR or MAN on days like today because the holding patterns are insanely long. I usually fly “out” the night before when the action is just starting.
I didnt realise there would be so many flying here today . my simple 3 hour flight turned into a 4 hour flight. i just wanna land
Well it is on the schedule, so I figured there would be plenty of people flying into EGCC for sure which is why I try to avoid flying into MAN & LHR on days like today because the two-runway operation just won’t cut it lol
Weekend featured airports are usually busy
Combine that with the fact there’s an IFC event going on involving the Jet2 VA, and that MAN itself has only 2 runways.. even with 1 dep runway and 1 arr runway there are gonna be delays
You should definitely pack extra fuel on a day like today, or be prepared to divert
i wish i was aware of this but on well im number 15th in line to land any way .But for sure ill take 3 business days to depart
Same, flew MAN-AUH yesterday as part of a larger itinerary, I’ll be flying to Malé tomorrow.
Testing your patience. Almost like IRL when pilots flying into very busy airports are told to hold and hold and hold and vectored somewhere and then hold before being cleared to continue with the approach. I listen podcasts or pilot youtubers who explained the challenges when flying into busy airports/space. LHR is one that has a lot of constraints and holding on the approach. I ve heard FRA too and with strict Tolerance. Especially in speed. +/- 5kts ![]()
