I am flying to Europe from South Africa.
No oxygen support and I’m limited to 12000 feet.
Yesterday, I took off from Johannesburg and did my first technical stop at Nampula Mozambique, after 3 hours and 22 minutes of flight and carried 1765 lbs of humanitarian food supply and a doctor from South Africa. I was passing through Lebombo Mountains and the view was spectacular.
After leaving the doctor and food supply, I refueled my airplane to continue to my next leg.
Due to internal issues Mozambique is facing, for safety reasons, I couldn’t take off over northern part of Mozambique, so I had to make south and take my flight following the coasts over the Indian Ocean.
I am now heading to HTZA (Zanzibar, Tanzania) to spend the night and get some rest.
The expected flight time is 4 hours, after some rest, I’ll refuel the airplane and take off early morning due to extreme heats that could affect my lift and climb performance… The next technical stop is going to be Djibouti, over the red sea to avoid high, Ethiopian hills where the mountain tops changes between 7000 to 15000 feet and I will follow the red sea all the way to Mediterranean (Almost, I’ll leave the red sea when I cross to Luxor Airport).
This is my next flight plan, if anyone wants to join or become an ATC through my flight, you can join or watch me.
Tanzania → Djibouti - > Jeddah → Luxor → Izmir → Athens → Napoli → Marsille → Lisbon → Porto → London Lydd airport.
- Luxor to Izmir is going to be a night flight and this part is going to be IFR. The rest of the flights are completely VFR.
And my return flight is going to be from western Africa to the Cape Town but I haven’t planned the return flight yet, and after a return I’ll make another flight plan to Australia and Japan, but that’s going to be with TBM.
