The Ozarks are a region of the United States that includes parts of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Illinois. It’s a lot of rugged terrain (the largest patch of rugged terrain between the Appalachias and the Rockies, actually) with a lot of forests and hills. Very beautiful part of the world. Branson is in the Ozarks, and you descend through a lot of those hills. The airport itself sits on a bit of a plateau, if memory serves.
