Flying Every Brussels Airlines Route

Off to Hamburg!

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany. It is home to the well known “Miniatur Wunderland”, which actually features a miniature version of the airport of Hamburg (although not 100% exact).

Off to Lyon!

Lyon is the second largest city in France by urban area, and third largest by city limits. Lyon is a major centre economically, for things like banking, chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The airport is also home to one of the few remaining L-1011 TriStars, after Air Transat flight TSC609 encountered a heavy hailstorm and diverted back there. It was subsequently written off.

Off to Banjul and Conakry!

Banjul is the capital city of the Republic of The Gambia, or simply The Gambia. A fun little fact about the airport, is that until 2001 it used to be an alternate Space Shuttle landing site for NASA.

Conakry is the capital city of the Republic of Guinea, or simply Guinea. Between 2013 and 2016, we saw the Western African Ebola Epidemic take place. Almost all airlines stopped flying to Guinea, as well as Sierra Leone and Liberia. However, Brussels Airlines never stopped flying to any of those destinations. This is why they were largely credited for playing a crucial role in stopping the epidemic.

Off to Abidjan and Ouagadougou!

Abidjan is the largest city and former capital city of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, or simply Côte d’Ivoire or Ivory Coast. Abidjan is the most populous French-speaking city in Africa.

Ouagadougou is the largest city capital city of Burkina Faso. Due to the airport being right in the middle of the city, construction is currently taking place to build a new airport farther from the city. It is supposedly set to open this year, so operations to the current airport might cease to exist “soon”.

Small Update:

I’ve gone ahead and added a section to the main post that contains some links.

These links are for feature requests. Specifically, feature requests regarding Brussels Airlines liveries (of course). I’ve also shortly summarized why some of these liveries would be nice to have.

Of course, no one is obligated to vote for any of them, but if you wish to check them out, and maybe leave a spare vote, it would be greatly appreciated.

Getting even just one of these liveries into the sim would greatly improve the enjoyability of this challenge.

For real, especially our small body fleet is just the A319, hoping for the coming A320neo to ship the Brussels livery on release, this Airline is underrepresentated and underappreciated in the Sim!

I’m certainly hoping for that as well.

And yeah, Brussels Airlines is massively under represented. That’s partly why I’m posting this challenge to the IFC, to make people more aware of the airline’s existence.

I really should make work of flying more to Africa, I bet a very underrated part to fly to in IF.

It is very much underrated.

You fly over some beautiful places, and a surprising amount of airports are 3D as well.

Such a good idea!
When’s the next route

Thank you! Got the idea from a whole bunch of topics in the Live category, so not that original xD .

I’m currently flying from Cotonou (COO/DBBB) to Brussels (BRU/EBBR).

I might do another route or two today, but I’m not entirely sure just yet. If I do, I’ll still need to figure out what route that’ll be.

Tomorrow I’ll probably start another long-haul though.

In any case, I’ll keep this topic up to date.

Off to Ljubljana!

Ljubljana is the capital city and largest city of Slovenia. The city is home to the “Dragon Bridge”, a 20th century built road bridge, adorned with four copper dragon statues on all corners of the bridge, as well as sixteen additional smaller dragon statues. The bridge is considered a “symbol of the city”.
