Hey everyone, yesterday I flew from Dallas Love Field to Orlando with my family. I decided to make a little trip report of my experience to let others know what it’s like flying during a pandemic.
When I first walked in, right away I could obviously tell the airport was very empty. Usually this area is pretty busy, but I only saw a few people. Check in was very quick.
Once we checked in, we walked over to security which was clearly very busy. It was pretty crazy walking straight through instead of waiting in a long line.
Once we got through security I decided to grab some Chick-Fil-A.
After we ate, we walked over to the gate and waited to board.
Fun Fact: My family took up 1/5 of the passengers.
There were only 24 passengers on this flight
After a very short wait we boarded N8312C, an 8 year old 737-8H4 that’s ETOPS certified. thanks @Luke_Sta
Once we boarded, we waited a short time before pushing back.
After a short taxi and very quick takeoff, we head for Orlando
Our flight was very smooth with an occasional bump here and there.
Descending through the clouds as we cross the Florida coast
On final for runway 17L with a beautiful sunset
After we landed I was able to go in the cockpit and get a picture. I even got to say hi to the first officer, which was pretty cool.
Once we got off the plane, we headed to get our rental car. The airport was quite empty, as expected.
