Flying Across Normandy (For Lunch)

Hello, IFC

Recently, I did a thing where I went in a plane and it went in the sky.

The flight was with a Robin DR400, a beautiful little wooden airplane. After a takeoff from Caen, I flew along the coastline of Normandy for 2 hours before having lunch and coming back, for a total of around 4 hours and 450km traveled. The goal was to practice navigation and overall, have fun!

Here are some pictures of the trip:

Today’s little bird sitting at the ramp next to a Beech doing engine tests

A view of Caen and the hideous hospital (they are building a new one :)

Turning over Ouistreham

The touristic city of Deauville

Also Deauville but closer because I have a friend down there and wanted to say hi to them and they wanted to film me

The enormous “Pont de Normandie”

A tight turn over an aviation museum because DC3s are cool and there’s a C47 down there I wanted to take a picture of

A bay lol

Flying over the fields of Wheat in central Calvados

That’s it in terms of pictures :)

I guess I can post pictures of specific things in the comments if needed but this is the 10 photo limit.

Overall, this flight was very comfortable and fun, and an amazing way to spend a summer day.
Also, flying is faster than driving… what took 2 hours by plane would have taken almost 5 by road :P

Thanks for having a look!

Sincerely,

Robertine
