Flying a SR20 G7

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to fly in a brand new Cirrus SR20 G7 at Stature Aviation in Addison.

Walking out to the plane to start the pre flight inspection

Strapped in, it’s different form the 172’s and Archers I’ve flown that have a car seat belt

I did some steep turns

Fun facts about the SR Series
Caps isn’t available until 600ft agl
The checklists and charts are all digital
The G7 has automatic fuel tank switching
The SR20 has 200hp so it’s high performance, the 22 and 22T have more horsepower
The plane has a constant speed prop but no blue prop lever
There are 3 flap settings 0 50% 100%
There is no nose wheel steering so you have to use differential breaking
The side stick is spring loaded and kind of heavy to fly

Must’ve been fun, I love your Ray Bans by the way. I have 2 pairs of Ray Ban Aviators my self but one is too big and one is getting small. All are handed down from my dad because he switched to the Caravan style which Goose wears in Top Gun. Would you fly this plane again?

Super cool. I haven’t flown in a while so I am living vicariously through these photos. I love the glass cockpit… I know a few guys at Cirrus that are working on their autopilot… have been hearing good things of what’s coming.
