Fly Amsterdam

Just flew in the Amsterdam region! While I was landing I noticed that there was a 30-32 knot crosswind! Eventually after 5 go around I decided to just try and slam the plane down and get all wheels on the ground. I would like to tell IF to make a automated atis for airports so you can prepare for a minor crosswind. Thanks

They had ATIS but they removed it because people were abusing the system.
As far as I know.

I can’t ever remember ATIS, and I take pride in being here since day dot!

ATIS is disabled if you go to the map you can read the METAR. I think a diversion should have been in order don’t you?

I feel like they should put ATIS back into Infinite Flight but for Expert Server Only so it is not abused.

It was only avaiable on expert and was abused hence why we don’t have it.

In what way could an automated text-to-speech channel be abused? Don’t you just tune in, listen, and tune out?

ATIS wasn’t formatted properly, it gave unrealistic information such as. Pattern work not accepted. It would hardly ever give the wind conditions, and controllers relied on that more then actually controlling the field.
When it was used.

How about just matching ATIS to the real life ATIS, like our weather, and no ATC can change it. That way, us pilots can use it like it is in real life?

It will be reworked at some point, but there are a lot of other things more important at this point.

that is also true. global first, ATIS later anyday.

It must have bin a large plane you were flying and a small runway you were landing at for that many go arounds! 5? wow. The most go arounds I’ve ever had to make is 1 and that was when it was a really really bad storm in Amsterdam a few months ago can’t remember what the storm was called. If the wind is really that bad, then ill just land the plane early and ill activate 100% full thrust reversers.

Shouldn’t this be in #live because only live has live weather conditions?

If you want to see winds, you can check the metar by clicking on the airport or have winds selected in your status bar
