Many people won’t make much longer flights anyway. Most will make use of global flight by flying to airports not in current regions. I think it could be released before the floating point bugs are worked on.
Yeah I guess, but are you really going to fly for 2 hours?
Ok, interesting. I figure the majority of people wouldn’t do that due to it being on a mobile device and general lack of time. But I guess considering the age of most users, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume some will spend all day on the weekend or during the summer on IF.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d like the floating point issue resolved. I don’t think it necessarily needs to gate the release of global flight though.
At the same time, they really should put some effort into fixing it. It isn’t really that elusive of an issue that it’s made out to be. Very well known and plenty of info on solutions out there.
The floating point must be fixed before global flight!
I don’t want my aircraft to pop between Tokyo and Osaka after a 13 hours flight to Japan.
What exactly is the point bug, and global flight, maybe it could be like conosle games while you are flying to a diff region it has a loading screen or something so its not loading both at the same time.
That’s me!
Has to be fixed, but then are our device batteries going to last long enough for Fp to have much an impact? (I know Fp is about the distance from origin, not time)
What is the “Floating Point” bug?
@Lare posted it a few posts above
Oh, is that when you try to steer, but then the plane spins around
If the plane spins its probably you turning too hard and/or have too much power engaged
Oh, so that is it.
I prefer having the floating point bug fixed. Global flight would be only for those who are hardcore enough to stay in front of their screen for over 2hs.
Extended regions would be better.
My view is that no matter how far you expand regions, people will want to fly to an airport outside of the region. A full global map solves that issue. It doesn’t mean you have to make longer flights.
We could have the option to transition to the region, for example: “would you like to speed up your flight?”, and you would show up in the next region.
