Flights take longer than Simbrief?

Do flights take longer than what Simbrief says? I was doing PPT-CDG non stop and it took me 17-18 hours instead of the normal 15-16 hours.

I typically find that Simbrief is quite accurate (within about 20 minutes). Mind if I ask what speed you were cruising at?

I was at mach .85

That’s certainly interesting. I suppose it could just come down to the ever-changing weather.

Agreed, the weather can change a lot in 17 hours! The pre-flight briefing is an estimated calculation with the current conditions and forecast. That’s why it’s good measure to recalculate every now and then to make sure your navlog is up-to-date
