Flight With Norwegian Spirit

Hey guys!
I hope you’re doing very well.

Today's flight brings me from the cloudy London Gatwick to Oslo Gardermoen airport during last Friday Night Flight. As you may have predicted, this did take a little longer to fly than usual, due to all the traffic at the Class Bravo airspace. I don't really know too much about Oslo Gardermoen myself, I'll give you some information I found online:)

Oslo Gardemoen is one of Norwegian Air Shuttle’s hubs hub for SAS Scandinavian and Wideroe, serving a total of 28,592,619 passengers in 2019, with many international as well as domestic destinations. The airport is named Gardermoen, because it is located in the lightly populated region named Gardemoen.
Before Oslo Gardermoen airport was built, it was used as a military camp as early as 1740, going by the name Fredericksfeldt until 1788. The army camp was used for cavalry, then, in 1834, for infantry, and years after that, in 1860, for artillery. A while later, in WWII, the camp was occupied by Nazi Germany’s Luftwaffe, and then built the first proper airport equipment. Once WWII had ended, the Norwegian Air Force took over the airfield, making it its main base.
Gardermoen International was used for commercial training and for GA aircraft. But in 1946, all intercontinental traffic was moved from Oslo’s main airport Fornebu to Gardermoen due to a runway extension at Fornebu, making the airfield unable to accept traffic until 1960. Gardermoen was used as a result of Fornebu’s runway extension.
Later, SAS started officially operating out of ENGM. Gardermoen extended its runway to be able to accept different kinds of traffic.

Alright, I did get a little carried away there, here’s the flight.

The flight took place on Friday, May 1st, 2020

Rotation out of EGKK with a Ryanair 738 parked up on stand

About two hours later, approach has vectored me towards the beginning landing queue, allowing for quite some breathtaking shots to be taken

A TBM quickly taking off from Oslo Gardermoen’s runway 01L, heading for one of ENGM’s domestic destinations.

Touchdown with a very large queue, as seen on PocketRishi’s YouTube spotting video

Another shot showing the takeoff queue waiting patiently for a runway 01L straight out departure.

Exiting on Gardermoen’s taxiway A3

That wraps it up for today’s shots, I hope you did enjoy them!
