Wow. Today was quite the day. We headed out to the airport at 7, hopped into the trusty Musketeer, and took of for Tangier Island. Tangier Tangier Tangier. Love that place now. It feels real, like your actually at the beach, unlike Virginia Beach and Ocean City. Awesome crab Patty’s and pretty much anything related to crab. Around three we headed over to W29, Bay Bridge, to get fuel and file a flight plane in WiFi to fly back into the SFRA around Dulles. We landed back at KJYO, Leesburg, rented a 172(the money was in an account just sitting there, why not use it) and flew out to Luray Caverns, stop and go, and then back to Leesburg at sunset. Landing at KJYO was not recorded because lots of traffic. Exjet flight, kingair 200, few 172s and a Cessna ttx were all in the pattern when we got back
Yeah. W29s runway is rather short, and we came in with too much altitude and speed, so we floated way down the runway, and pretty much at the same instant we both yelled, go around and my friend put full power in, but at that point in the flare we were already sinking, the mains touched down, nose kinda slammed down, and then we got enough airspeed to get up and going again. Second landing was much better
