Flight data recorder

Hello there, would it in future be possible to do record on the vertical touch down speed with landings in Infinite Flight? I‘m training to do soft landings with the B737-8 Max, but would like some exact data regarding stress on the aircraft structure after flight with AI recommendations on how my landing went or should be.

I dont think so due to Infinite flight being a mobile flight stim but it could be a feature if you make it

I think some sort of a huge mainframe computer by Infinite Flight that could collect flight data from mobile devices to compute all induced stress on structures during flights, and report them back.

I… don’t know how exactly you would do it, but I think you can collect data like ground and vertical speeds from the flight trackers (either InfiniteX or InfiniteView), or you can ask the developers for their API. As for the stress on aircraft structure, you can make a rough estimate based on the landing weight (you can view this on the bottom bar). You just have to know where you place the cargo and pax seating etc.

You could write a small program that connects to the Connect API, pulls data from it, process it to do the stress-test thing you described and logs it into a file or something.

Send me a PM if you need some help :)

That actually sounds like a really neat idea, to see how much stress is put on the airframe upon landing. My number must be through the roof with most of my landings!

I’m not sure if it’s working anymore, but this app did exactly what you’re looking for (+ more)

If not, you can go into your replay and watch the v/s as you hear the landing gear touchdown sound. You’ll be able to see the touchdown v/s briefly before it defaults to zero.
