flight controls while doing approach

after establishing on the localiser why there is no vertical and horizontal line which helps to fly through the glide slopein the PFD.

There is :)

But perhaps you’re missing a step or two?
Have a look here:

im asking about this

It is visible there as well, but not like you’re showing in the picture.
There are usually diamond shapes on the compass and altitude indicators.

We don’t have the so-called “Flight Director” in the sim at this time.

Hey, is there a reason when the diamonds don’t appear sometimes? It’s rarely happening to me. I stay beneath the GS while activating the APPR. I selected the right runway in the ILS settings. It’s strange, because the setup is always the same. Is this a glitch?

Not that I’m personally aware of, no.
If you’re able to find a procedure to reproduce the issue, do feel free to post it in Support :)

Ok thanks! I’ll try to reproduce it. However it’s rarely happening and I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong. It’s a bit strange that I’ve never seen it before. It’s just like the vertical diamond won’t show up, apart from how far I’m away from the ILS emitter.

ive been trying to search it . if its added it would be great tool especially while landing.

I assume you are able to see the green diamonds for the localizer and glideslope?

yeah i can see the HSI and glide slope diamond

the difficulty i face is after engaging the lnav with the loc frequency on it hsi is not in the centre line with the CRS. sometimes its due to wind which i understand and it happens all the time with or without wind

Hi, I’m not exactly sure what you mean by the following?:

Do you have another screen shot that shows that particular detail?

I was just doing a test flight with the ILS set to Nav1, and a nearby VOR set to Nav2.

The ILS of course is a fixed heading; with a VOR you have to choose a heading.

I was assigning various headings to vector my direction towards and away from the VOR location using the CRS2 to select the heading angle.

I did this to steer my course to intercept the ILS’s fixed heading.

I did this all on autopilot with a strong crosswind, with everything tracking all the way to a manual touchdown (switched off autopilot just before decision height).

So, everything should work for you as long as you are making the right selections and roughly following sound procedures to make it to each course you desire (and each kind of course; whether fixed or user selected).

this method i never tried but had idea of trying this method.

i always correct the crs in nav 1 itself to make wind adjustments which is not good idea i think should use a vor instead and correct crs 2 until final heading i will try this

In the test flight I mentioned above, I never made any wind adjustments, except when I took over to complete the landing with a strong crosswind.

When on autopilot and assigning course to/from the VOR, I let the autopilot fly the headings without even thinking about the wind. Same as with the ILS approach after hitting the APPR button. The autopilot sets me up with the proper crab angle. All I have to do is land.

So, I guess I’m not understanding about making wind adjustments (unless you are trying to maintain the courses manually, in which case you would have to set up your own crab angle for any crosswind).

yeah im trying to adjust crs angle manually.

what will be the to and from heading if the vor is little left or light to the. runway??

It doesn’t have to be a VOR (which are being obsoleted anyway), I just used that because it was available, and I wanted to use both NAV1 and NAV2 at the same time.

But for an intercept course to the runway ILS it’s usually said you should be no more than about 30 degrees from the runway heading.
