Flight Change Everything | My first time on A380

Last holiday, I returned to China from Australia. I’m going to experience the A380 that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time, so I set my flight plan to Melbourne-Sydney-Singapore-Bangkok-Shanghai-Chengdu (as an aviation lover, this is really crazy), so let’s go back to Sydney Airport to see this wonderful flight!

Flight Number: QF1

It must be worth taking a Qantas domestic flight to Sydney and then departing for an international flight, because you can take the Qantas shuttle bus for free. The shuttle will take you from the domestic terminal of Qantas to the international terminal, and pass the hangar of Qantas on the way. This is definitely a unique experience!

Is it just some 737? It’s so boring. Of course, there are also 787. Is it just 787 and 330? Of course, you will also pass by the A380. The plane next to me this time happens to be the one I will take later.

Pass the customs inspection, pass the security check, and arrive at the boarding gate. I walked through the longest jet bridge so far and finally got on the miracle of human industry, A380-800.

The A380 is equipped with a camera, which can be viewed using PTV. But the image quality of the equipment more than ten years ago was almost completely lost. Therefore, sitting by the window is still the best choice. I like airlines like Qantas, which can quickly remove the seat belt indicator light.

Soon, the cabin attendant distributed today’s dinner, and I chose stewed beef with mashed potatoes. There are three types of staple food for economy class passengers to choose from. The economy class menu can be viewed on PTV, and of course the flight attendants will also broadcast. My evaluation of this main meal is almost a perfect score. It is difficult for economy class meals to have such a high level.

Before flying out of the Australian mainland, the flight attendant also served two meals, one for ice cream and the other for hot movies and small snacks. Sitting in the economy class and looking at the scenery outside the window and eating ice cream is a wonderful experience. Although Cathay Pacific also distributes ice cream, it is better for me to experience, because Cathay Pacific’s ice cream is distributed with the main meal, while Qantas is a separate meal. ( And Cathay Pacific’s ice cream has just been sent down and is as hard as a stone lol)

Sitting by the window and looking out of the window, I had reached the sky above Indonesia before I knew it.

For the last meal, economy class passengers have to choose one of the two. I chose dumplings. It tastes very good (probably because I haven’t eaten Asian food for a long time).

Eight hours later, our plane landed at Changi Airport in Singapore. The A380 aircraft used by both Qantas and Singapore Airlines on the Sydney-Singapore route, but the most important reason for choosing Qantas is that I can collect the smallest flight number. But most importantly is…

One day, just one day… :smiling_face_with_tear:

For now all I can do is stare at it land and take-off from WADD daily using the full length of the runway, roaring away really everyday night or day, from the top of a cliff (from my aunt’s house)… talking excitedly about it each time to people who’ll respond with Wooah, Wow…etc. when I’m sure they were just being nice and have no idea about this beautiful machine

I’m from Chengdu. In fact, I’ve never seen the A380 before I left my hometown. The first time I saw the A380 was when I transferred to Shanghai in Amsterdam. It was an Emirates plane, separated by a layer of glass from me. I could really feel the smallness of human beings. Look at the advantages. There is only one runway in Bali, so you won’t miss the plane you want to find😭

I’ve been on a few A380 with Qatar and Emirates. I understand the feeling and expectation. A truly great plane and flying experience, wherever one sits in it.
