Welcome In…

Already did the flight🗿

I missed the announcement for this event… but I can’t join anyways, have fun for those who are going

To be honest, a good event comes at the cost of chaos at nearby airports like ZGSZ and ZSSS, which lack ATC.

@HeiBaiCN ZGSZ is 21nm away from VHHH, the hub. It’s too close to the hub, so there is a very big chance that an aircraft taking off from ZGSZ won’t be accepted to land at VHHH with the heavy traffic, as it’s seen as a “local flight”. ATC controllers usually do not open nearby airports to the hub to avoid such local flights from happening. Pilots are encouraged to do real flights, or at least 80-100nm distance, in order to get real service. Otherwise, they might be diverted depending on the traffic level.

Thank you for your explanation. I believe many players took off from VHHH and landed immediately at ZGSZ yesterday, displaying behavior that included, but was not limited to: (1) making no requests in the channel before landing, (2) taking off on opposite runways regardless of others’ departure requests, and (3) taxiing through other players. Therefore, I think using AI-ATC at airports without ATC is necessary. If these actions happened on the Casual Server, I wouldn’t see an issue. However, since they occurred on the Expert Server, I find them unacceptable.
