Hi,

I saw that I can flag a mod’s post, and wonder what would happen. Would the mod I flagged respond, do they not respond, or what?

I don’t see why you’d ever need to flag a mod’s post. You’d just be reporting it right to them anyway.

The mods posts are threated the same as anyone elses, but given our great mods you should never need to flag them…

You can try it and see what happens, just have a valid reason and bear the consequences should there be any.

Lets say @DeerCrusher went to a user named @Rudolph
_DaRedNosedReignDeer, and said his nose is ugly. Rodulph would first tell Santa to put Matt on the naughty list, then he would flag it. Other mods would see it, and if it was a serious issue, they would most likely have a trial, with other mods and staff, asking questions about why he did that, how it affects them on a professional level, etc. After that, depending on the severity, the other mods would decide what the punishment would be. It would probably give a warning, demote, or in some circumstances, suspend the mod that did that. That’s my best guess on what would happen.

(No hate on @DeerCrusher, just using him as an example. And he’s my favorite mod, so :P )

You should only use the flag system for serious concerns. That system is not a joke and takes moderator and/or staff time.

It happens surprisingly often. We can simply just disagree with the flag and it’ll be dismissed, and it’ll negatively affect your flagging stats.

Please don’t flag our posts though, it just wastes time that could be spent moderating :)

I mean Deer did respond with a kinda good response that said “Thanks for letting us know. We’re looking into it.” so I guess it was ok?

It’s generally people who disagree with us closing their topic, or something along those lines.

How do you see your flag stats?

Flag stats are shown on your profile once clicked by a moderator. But flagging a moderator’s post is generally a waste of time. If you have a legitimate issue with a moderator, contact a staff member.
