This is kind of a heads up for fighter pilots. At this altitude, fighters are able to fly the highest GS, so it’s the most efficient altitude to fly. IDK why nobody fly at this altitude in IF, no matter fighters or airliners. Anyone know why?

It is all about the winds, they can sometimes be much higher at FL360, than say, FL300.

I’ve seen people fly FL360 and higher, I myself have cruised at FL410 in a 787 once.

I use this often in airliners?? I calculate my cruise before the flight and sometimes FL360 isn’t most efficient
and your current weight too :)

Oh, it’s good on F-14, maybe your plane performs a bit different.

Do you have any sources on this? Haven’t heard of that before

Yeah the 737 is a bit different. And F-16 I usually cruise a bit higher

Yes. FL360 is the average troposphere altitude. It’s written on high-speed E6B
Ooh, that makes sense! Thanks! :D
