First time night Spotting!

So I saw that my Bucket list Aircraft was coming to TTN…
So as a Avgeek I had to.

Problem is the photos have more grains than Atlantic City’s beach

caught this NetJets Citation when we pulled up to our spot

And now the SAAB 2000 than I have been wanting to spot for the last 5 years. Like I said more grain than a beach

Nikon D7500 w tamron 70-300mm

:sob:

Try getting a f/2.8 and using less iso maybe

I was at a max iso… and F/5 bc that’s the minimum

We get one like once every 2 weeks at gsp

What’s the shutter speed on the second one

If you have a tripod that is able to hold the camera as still as possible and you are able to photograph still aircraft on the ground for 13s, then try using these settings;

ISO - Auto
Aperture - F 8.0
Shutter speed - 13 s / 13’
Auto focus

1/160. it was 51* out so It was hard to keep my camera still

The 7500 maxes out at like a million something ISO I guarantee at f5 and 1/160 this is not that lol

it maxxes out at 51200… and i promise it is f/5

Nikon decided to build in some really weird expandable settings HI 0.3 to HI 5, to the point where HI 5 is literally ISO 1.6 million lol

Try it out in your house sometime it’s really funny to see how grainy it can get

I’ve never ventured past 51200, time to mess around

Iirc the highest settings turn it into black and white and under some very niche circumstances it can be somewhat useful and look nice.
