First prototype of the IA-58 Pucará (AX-01)

The IA-58 Pucará is a ground attack, Counter Insurgency (COIN) aircraft. Developed and manufactured by the Fábrica Militar de Aviones of Argentina in 1969 and introduced into service in 1974, the production run consisted of 110 airframes. The plane’s main user was the Fuerza Aérea Argentina. Foreign usera included Colombia, Sri Lanka, and a captured plane by the British after Malvinas. The aircraft was retired from service in 2019.
The aircraft you see here is AX-01, the first powered prototype (there were gliders too) of the Pucará.

Similar only in the rectangular wing and nose. Other stuff is different.

The number one serial of any type is always cool to see. Very cool looking plane as well. Nice photo!
