I was recently on a cruise to Alaska onboard Norwegian Encore and while the boat was in Juneau me and my dad went on a excursion in a sea plane, I was lucky enough to sit in the front of the Turbo Otter and take pictures of the beautiful and majestic glaciers, I also took videos of the take offs and landings. The flight was operated by Wings Airways and it flew us to Taku Glacier Lodge for Dinner. Being able to fly in the backcountry of Alaska in a sea plane was one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever experienced.
That’s awesome. What date did you fly? Asking because I was in Juneau on the 22nd and saw quite a few cruise ships and sea planes flying around.
When I was in Juneau last week I really wanted to go on that excursion but it was all sold out!!!
Looks like you had an awesome time!
That’s surely an amazing experience!
That looks like, an epic forest time on a sea plane!
That is so cool! Would love to travel there myself one day. Such a beautiful place.
Nice photos!!! I’m actually on an Alaskan cruise right now and I went on a seaplane for my first time near Vancouver before the cruise.
Looks like a lot of fun! I’d love to get my seaplane rating at some point. Not right now though, too much going on lol…
Yeah, I’ve been really busy too. I would love to get my seaplane rating one day. Right now, I’m hammering down on studying for my instrument written using Shepherd Air.
Hopefully done with my instrument and moving onto commercial sometime between August and September
This looks incredible, what a wonderful experience!
Awesome! I remember the instrument written being a pretty hard test. SheppardAir is the perfect way to study for it. I used it for my Commercial and CFI written exams (FOI Fundamentals of Instruction, and FIA Flight Instructor Airplane) and got high A’s on all of them.
Sounds like all you need is your written and a checkride, good luck! Dont make the same mistake I made on my first try by turning the wrong way on a procedure turn 😬. Lesson learned.
Have fun with commercial, all the cross countries are super fun to do. You get to explore a bit, which is exciting.
That’s seems pretty cool to me
