First American Airlines A321XLR Spotted In Hamburg

Source

Introduction & What we know

American Airlines' newest member of the fleet has just been spotted in Hamburg!

We don’t know much about the aircraft, or American Airlines’ intentions with it yet, but, per Aerotime and Simple Flying, the aircraft, D-AZAB, fitted with CFM LEAP-1A engines, is expected to be delivered sometime around April.

Future Plans

American Airlines has placed an order for 50 A321XLR's, and the airline plans to receive 7 of them this year.

2026 will see 28 more A321XLR’s being delivered to the airline, as they ramp up the delivery pace.

By 2029, the airline expects to have a fleet of 50 A321XLR’s, to contribute to their plan to expand their long-haul network, and to work towards more efficient and sustainable air travel.

Closing thoughts

With the A321XLR's impressive range, and advanced feautures, I think the aircraft is set to play a pivotal role in expanding American Airlines' global network for years to come.

I totally agree, I wonder what routes it’ll fly too

I just noticed that too… not sure if it’s permanent, or temporary, hopefully the latter!
