One of my first training flights in the new and improved A330-300 was a short hop from Munich (EDDM) to Frankfurt (EDDF). I could feel the ground effect as my aircraft passed by a B747-8I, holding short at Runway 25C.

The landing was very smooth, but a little bit off-center. I enjoyed the entire flight.
What’s the ground effect?

Ground effect is increased lift, generated by the wings, as you get close to the ground. It gives you the feeling that the aircraft is floating right before touching down.
