Firefighting DC-10's at Mesa Gateway

Today I was driving by Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and then I saw three DC-10’S. One was parked, one was taxing, and the other was landing above us. I then decided to look up on the internet why they were there. Apparently they were firefighting DC-10’s that were there because they were fighting fires in Arizona :)

Vote here if you want it in the update 😉
I’m sure more liveries like this one would come as well.

Those aircrafts are actually the ones from California. They just came to Arizona to fight fires! :)

One of these awsome aircraft is currently stationed at Helena, MT. This is the first time one of these has ever landed in my home state! It’s amazing how quickly they get around and how many fires they work on even though there are just 3 of them!

I hope they add this in Infinite Flight some day.

Wait a second, so this isn’t even your photo? This is basically me posting a bunch of pictures from KIAH, saying “Oh I saw these planes, so here are some pictures of them (photo creds to blah blah)”

I saw 4 of them when I flew out of there a month ago. Very cool to see some DC-10s!

No, I was just saying I saw a unique aircraft at my local airport, and it had a cool story behind it…

That is not the point of this thread. Remember we what Chris told you a few minutes ago, you don’t run #real-world-aviation:spotting. Let things slide for once. You do no good by pointing this out, especially long after this thread was conceived.

I wonder why XD luckily my airport has had fire planes, but our city has never had a wildfire

My town has had countless fires my school had to end early becuase of a wildfire and the smoke.

Awwwwwwwww (sarcasm, i would be happy to get out of school early) any big wildfires, or just small fires.

We’ve had very bad fires and at Victorville airport they have the 747 super tanker there waiting to go into service. I’ve even seen the supertanker I have a pic of it but not great quality.

I’ve seen some cool videos by someone called CargoSpotter of the DC10s dropping fire stuff in forest.
