Today I was driving by Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and then I saw three DC-10’S. One was parked, one was taxing, and the other was landing above us. I then decided to look up on the internet why they were there. Apparently they were firefighting DC-10’s that were there because they were fighting fires in Arizona :)
One of these awsome aircraft is currently stationed at Helena, MT. This is the first time one of these has ever landed in my home state! It’s amazing how quickly they get around and how many fires they work on even though there are just 3 of them!
Wait a second, so this isn’t even your photo? This is basically me posting a bunch of pictures from KIAH, saying “Oh I saw these planes, so here are some pictures of them (photo creds to blah blah)”
That is not the point of this thread. Remember we what Chris told you a few minutes ago, you don’t run #real-world-aviation:spotting. Let things slide for once. You do no good by pointing this out, especially long after this thread was conceived.
We’ve had very bad fires and at Victorville airport they have the 747 super tanker there waiting to go into service. I’ve even seen the supertanker I have a pic of it but not great quality.
