Fire bombers strike!

A 10 acre fire just broke out about 3 miles from our hangar. BLM deployed a Aero commander 690C (State of Alaska) a BK117 (From Soloy’s Helicopters), Tanker 166, a BAe 146, and Tanker 173, a Convair 580.

T-166 and T-173 made direct hits placing the fire at 80% contained. The Helicopter continues to fight the fire.

It’s always cool seeing them attack! I’ve seen a few on other fires we have helicopters on but in town was sweet!

Any news on how the fire started?

Nothing yet, BLM will investigate it once it’s put out

Hey! I saw and smelled this. It was cool seeing all the planes on it. Good thing they got on it! They just updated that it wasn’t 80% contained, but it was 30% contained

Yep! Currently at 30% I can see it From MRI

Here’s one of the three helicopters involved
