787 Month
Not to long ago, Qantas received its 6th Boeing 787, and with the delivery of the 7th expected soon, What better way to celebrate the 787 than to have a whole month dedicated to it! Throughout the month of October, we will host a number of 787 themed events, from the testing, to the delivery, right up to the commercial services of the flight. Our first event to kick off this month is a test flight around Seattle, where the 787s get made and assembled.

Steep Climb: As soon as you take off from KPAE, pull up and try to climb to FL400 as fast possible (around 3000-4000fpm).
Top Speed Test: Once you level off at 40,000 feet, put your engine to full power and do a steep decent (stay under overspeed marker). Level off at FL120.
Banking Test: Here we ask you to turn off NAV mode and try your best to follow to sharp truns on the flight plan as best as you can. This will test the banking capability of the aircraft.
Stall Test: Starting at 48N22, put your engine on idle and dump your flaps. Continue doing this until you reach the slowest speed possible and stall. Then level off at 9,000 feet at a more reasonable speed.
Steep Descent: Cross fix TEECEE at 9,000 and then decend steeply to 3000ft. Follow the FPL to the localiser.
