Even though i would love the A350-1000, i would take the 747 any day ;)
But just a note that other reasons determine what aircraft and other features get added, not just votes. IF decisions aren’t completely community based y’know? But a lot of it is, so that’s a plus to them from my end.
Most of them are tbh. The max vs Neo, battles of the heavy, you choose which aircraft next aka the a330
Tho another question ill have is if the same thing would be done to the 777X, as it just started testing and we could see it in service in a year or two, but it has more operators than the A350-1000 so i think there’s a higher chance well see it.
It is what it is I guess, I just find it strange that this is the only aircraft that this applies to. The A221, the A330-200, -800, B753 and so on are allowed while the A350-1000 isn’t. Reworks are a priority but the timeline has shown that there is space for new aircraft/variants in the timeline as well. Looking at the screenshot by @schyllberg it shows that many of the most requested aircraft (variants) besides the very big ones at the top are also requests for new aircraft, showing people want those. So why not let people vote for it, it’s up to them so no waste in my opinion. If requested now it would surely take 2-3 years to reach a significant amount of votes anyways, and until then the addition of the A359 would be in the past already. (I know devs supersede moderators, but I was even allowed by a moderator to open a topic so I assumed the policy changed, am I correct with the assumption it is still indefinitely prohibited?)
Thing is the difference between aircraft like the A330-200 and A330-300 isnt quite the same as the A359 and A35K, sure its just a different fuselage length, but the A35K has some other things that differ from the A359, like the gear, a different TrentXWB engine and (i believe) the wings, so maybe those other changes made the A35K addition in IF require a bit more developing.
But tbh i do hope for the staff to open votes for the A35K and see how much attention itll get from the community.
To me it seems like an outdated decision that was made back then and now it’s a bit stubborn to keep it that way 3 years after that
Honestly I kind agree, because if they can spend a year on the A380 with only 14 operators (similar demand as A35K) they can surely spend half that time on the A35K with half the operators(And still growing!), now sure some may argue that the A380 didn’t have another variant to avoid is rework/addition but the A35K will not require a start from scratch (They’ll use parts from the A359, just like they did for other models.) So to summarize my points I would love to see this aircraft, and I hope soon the staff will change their mind and open doors for community request for this aircraft (Just like they’ve said)
I created a post for the A350-1000 it got closed see, infinite flight is closing my topic because of a statement that let the A359 get developed first , but that was the time when the A359 was under development this need to change!
It was on the A350 family request before Jason responded saying why the A35K isn’t coming right after the A350 update came out
Keep in mind that the A380 have far more ”iconic” value than the A35K. I love the A350, I do. But there’s nothing “special” about it in comparison :)
But why a categoric blocking of a request? I don’t see the advantage of it considering this doesn’t apply to any other aircraft no matter the popularity and number of operators
Jason already answered why.
No point in wasting votes on something we’re not ready to consider regardless :)
Alright I get that but one last question, what makes it different to the A221, A332, etc? Why can they have one then?
To get a lay of the land of actual interest. We already know the A35K is very wanted by some. For those others mentioned, it is more unknown.
Alright, thank you
Also one thing to note is that i do hope to see the ULR for singapore airlines, it would be quite a cool aircraft to add imo
The ULR is basically a normal A350-900 with extra fuel tanks, it’s literally what we have in game right now, like the A350 in game can be that we don’t need a separate aircraft 💀💀
Yes I’m aware but it can be a copy of the current Singapore airlines but with extra fuel tanks while being the same aircraft, just like how the 747-8 has the -8I and -8F
Not extra fuel tanks, but with added fuel traded for lesser passenger and cargo capacity, with extra fuel in the same volume of tanks and same MTOW.
