Fingerprints on Cockpit

I think that having fingerprints on the cockpit would be a fairly nice quality addition to aircraft.

However, I’d like to suggest to have them on older aircraft as well. Those aircraft could be:

A380
CL35
E-Jets
F-18
A220
A330
777
737
A350
Xcub, C172, TBM & C208
Pre-instruments aircraft like CRJ, MD/DC, C-130, 787 and A320(If possible)

To conclude it, having extra detail in the cockpit makes the cockpit-flying experience more immersive.

If it bothers you…

Maybe a setting option would exist that adjusts the amount of dirt or other rusty things could exist. So that you can turn it off/lower it if it bothers you!

I think for the quality of the game for now it would be not so nice to see finger prints on the screens of aircrafts. In a sim like mfs and xplane it is nice because their graphics are way better. But for IF it would be not so good…

Please no 🫠. I fly aircraft with glass cockpits and I can’t stand it when there is finger prints all over the displays.

It won’t be THAT visible.

In the picture there is sunlight on the displays which make them pop more.

This would drive me nuts 🤣 Just knowing I can’t clean it off. IRL my room windows are spotless if I see a mark its gone lol.

It’s an interesting request, but I really do see this ever getting much traction. I agree with what others said in that this would drive me absolutely nuts.

This would really also annoy me. I also agree with @PhorzaSky… it gets on my nerves whenever there are fingerprints on EVERYTHING. No votes from me.

I think that many are misunderstanding. Or are expecting this to be something that will ruin cockpit-flying.

Current cockpits in IF have some scratches(but since the current graphics dont illuminate in the cockpit, its hard to notice any) and just how that’s subtle i think that the same would go to fingerprints :)

If you think that i’m requesting to have dirty cockpits, you are mistaken. IF this was to be implemented it would be very subtle and would give a more real vibe.

IF used to focus on dirt/scratches and other things. This is seen by looking at the older aircraft, usually there is rust and other details. However now aircraft are very “clean”, rather too clean for my liking.

I’d be ok with this if there is a setting that could disable the finger print look on the avionics
