yeah but if u don’t know how to fly also get on the training lol
Casual… Maybe even better 😆
I joined IF in the pre-global era. That meant we were restricted to flying in regions only without LNAV. If you wanted 10 hours of flight time, you had to be at your device for 10 hours as you flew around the region. I spent a lot of time on the casual and training servers and studied IF tutorial videos before moving to the expert server.
Global flight and LNAV means anyone can now complete a 10+ hour flight with almost zero interaction. I was inactive for several months at the start of the year, dropping me to grade 1. I was back to grade 3 in under two days and could easily have been faster if i were bothered.
I can agree with this but not really. If you are a “new pilot” you should not be flying around the expert server doing barrel rolls and taxing through people and various other horrible behavior. And, even if you are new you still have a idea of what is acceptable and the stuff these kinds of people are doing is not acceptable. Now, I am not saying every new pilot is a bad person and a troll, in fact many new pilots will eventually become great pilots and then will have to deal with this kind of behavior like a lot of other people. Just my take on things
Still it’s the expert server and you should be paying attention to what you’re doing and wait to takeoff.
My take on this problem, as this seems to be a relatively controversial topic. I would say, to those who new to Infinite Flight to stick to the casual server only, then move on to the training server once you gain more experience and knowledge, then towards the expert server. Obviously, once you reach the expert server, you are not required to follow specific flight procedures, almost identical to real life, although keep in mind that you have to atleast keep it somewhat realistic to be mindful to those who are also trying to enjoy a realistic flight experience. Especially on the expert server, don’t troll people. If you want to do your shenanigans, do it on the Casual Server, because that is what the Casual Server is made for. Casual flying. Obiously, I understand that there are people out there who don’t enough experience. Violations is how we learn to become better pilots ourselfs, but there is a huge difference between making a small mistake, and doing things on purpose to annoy other pilots who are trying to enjoy a good flight.
Just my two cents…
As long as anyone with an app store can download and play, there will be those who don’t pay any attention to the “rules” beyond whatever the physics and violations systems limit.
I understand the desire of every pilot that wants realism, and I am definitely on the side of more realism.
But the reality is that this is an app that’s in the big two app stores, for anyone, anyone to download.
The portion of the IFC that wants the closest as possible to real life procedures, is something of a unique thing, in the world of phone apps.
The only thing i see that might ease the frustration of the realists is to adjust the reactions to improper behavior… Make ATC controlled areas as real as possible, at the same time as we adjust realists’ expectations down, everywhere away from ATC.
Perhaps showing the free region boundaries on the ES maps, would help realist pilots avoid the unsubscribed pilots?
