Hello everyone,
Welcome to my tracking thread. This thread was approved by an IFATC specialist. This thread will be open for some months while I practice until I turn 14 to start the recruitment process. I will most likely be open either on a daily basis or every other day. Feel free to leave all feedback necessary! I also passed the practice written test.

Do I have to clear you guys for the option if you guys are already in the pattern?

Alright here is some feedback from AV-235. It is constructive criticism to help you ;)

  1. You cleared me for pushback but the plane I was in didn’t have the pushback feature. So if it’s a GA plane make sure to clear them to taxi

  2. Your clearances were pretty late… if an aircraft is remaining in the pattern they need an option clearance and it should be given on crosswind or early downwind

  3. the maintain slowest speed in my opinion wasn’t necessary, as a Cessna is a lot slower than a commercial jet, therefore Shane would have been airborne by the time I was near the runway. Try not to over control :)

  4. Just something i noticed with Shane… if an aircraft requests a runway change they NEED a pattern entry. Ex: enter right downwind runway 18.

  5. I got no exit runway command. These commands should be given when an aircraft is stopping and preparing to exit. For a commercial plane I would say at 60kts this command should be given

I agree with all of them, but on my screen it showed you disconnected on the active, so I couldn’t have. However, all the others I agree with. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I was N52EA, and I had a list of things to comment on, and @Aviation3 hit every single one on the dot. Please make sure to check over everything he said again, but there are three things I noticed that he didn’t mention. Promptly after I took off, you cleared me for the option, and told me to make ___ traffic after the option. Only use this command when an aircraft is inbound for touch and go, or has changed runways, otherwise it is redundant. Also, shortly after I took off the second time, right after I requested a runway change, you immediately gave me an “extend upwind” command. You have the right idea… but only use this in a situation where two aircraft are taking off and are parallel and one needs to cross the other’s departure path. The last extremely important piece, is that when I was on downwind and @Aviation3 was on downwind as well, really quickly after take-off with the obvious intention of tighter patterns than what I was flying, make sure to clear him first, then sequence me behind him so that he doesn’t have to follow a jet aircraft and make such long and slow patterns. Also make sure issue a pattern instruction, and sequence if need, when someone is changing runways, that is also very important! Have a fine rest of your day! :)
