Favorite Airport: Munich (home airport)
Favorite Region/Continent: Africa, especially Tanzania, because of the scenery (Kilimanjaro for example)
Another thing that usually makes me like an airport is if it has long routes served by narrowbodies. I for example love Kap Skirring for that reason. The airport’s location is great anyway so maybe that’s a bad example. But for example, Manas (Bishkek) is another airport that is located beautifully but gets even more exciting due to its Jeddah route if that makes sense outside of my head ^^
Oujda is awesome if that still counts as that region. Tunis also has a fun DME ARC approach. I also like Marrakesh, but to be honest, I haven’t been flying there too much. It’s always Dakar or more Southward normally
My favorite airport is Sacramento International (KSMF). While I’m biased because i live here, I do have to say its awesome because it has routes to everywhere in the US. flights ranging from 30 minutes to 6 hours long. It’s close to major hubs like LAX, SFO, SLC, PHX, etc. The taxiways are simple and easy to navigate (cough Ohare). Also awesome for GA flying, since your in a massive valley and only 5 minutes east your already in the Sierra Nevada Mountains!
Favorite region has to be the stretch from Portland to Anchorage. Absolutely beautiful!
Continent has to be North America. perfect for 5-8 hour flights. Beautiful, fairly populated with other plane traffic. Second fave continent is Europe, especially for the fantastic short hauls you get there.
I like to fly over Central Asia(Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) , China and Japan.
The airport I recently discovered (3d) is Almaty airport Kazakhstan. Filled with great scenery, a big mountain range very very close up, with behind that a big lake, surrounded by again, mountains.
Makes routes with the 757 possible. And is central so you can fly to China and Europe in max 6 hours.
I like the African continent and I really like the 25r approach into Hong Kong. My favorite airports are those U.S. airports like Chicago Midway, Fort Myers, Burbank, Myrtle Beach, Burbank, etc.
