Hello Everyone!
It’s that time of year again and it’s time for the Farnborough Airshow 2018! As many of you know, every year at events like this major airlines announce new orders for aircraft, Manufacturers have even launched aircraft here. Because many of us won’t be there, why not have a dedicated thread for news to be posted, and for us to talk about the developments from this years Farnborough Airshow 2018! All news can be posted below and I’ll add it to this topic along with the date it was announced.

This years Farnborough Airshow Lasts from the 16th this month to the 19th. Many exhibitors will be there from all over the world including airlines, Manufacturers, and Airframers.

The Airshow starts in less then a week! Rumors are certainly circulating already with almost anything you can imagine. Don’t forget to use this thread to keep track of all Farnborough Airshow news. Is anybody going to attend?

Definitely! I live in South Wales though so it’s around 4hrs away and we can’t find a hotel that cheap at the moment apart from Travel Lodge.

My bet would be a UA order on the 17th. It’s the day before their earnings call and they normal announce aircraft orders a day before. Probably no MOM Boeing release this year though. Rumor has it that they want a 2019 launch of the 797 and an entry into service in 2025.

DHL Express announced today they will will order 14 Boeing 777Fs with options for seven more.

Qatar Airways finalized a $1.5bn deal worth five Boeing 777 Freighters. The commitment actually started in April, but has been confirmed today.


Jackson Square Aviation will become the 100th 737 MAX customer, announcing an order for 30 of the aircraft. Variant has not been specified as of yet.

For Airbus aircraft, we have a Taiwanese full service airline startup, Starlux, who has ordered 17 Airbus A350s, 5 of the -900 variant, the remaining of the -1000 variant.

Chengdu based Sichuan Airlines will order 10 Airbus A350 aircraft, to total 14 A350s in their fleet once all aircraft are delivered (four are leased).

New Delhi based Vistara will add 50 Airbus A320neo to their growing fleet, as they have signed a LOI (letter of intent) for 13 A320neos and will lease 37 of the type.

I’m all the way in japan currently but I’m gonna stay up to date in this
I really hope the MRJ has great turnouts as I am hyped for Japan and Mitsubishi to Make a boom in the commercial aircraft industry.The MRJ has had constant delays but they are progressing well right now and I hope the airshow boosts it and earns some orders.The MRJ goal is to replace the aging regional aircraft with a new modern better option regional aircraft.They currently have 25 orders from ANA and JAL and a bunch from Some American companies.Im also excited for Boeing and airbus even though I don’t really like what airbus Is doing.I am interested in airbus A321 neoA321LR situation tho

Ohh starlux ordered the A350xwb! The airline is startup and it is amazing they are already getting long haul aircraft

UA doing something for customers. On many routes, the CRJ is more efficient but they are choosing the ERJ for customer comfort.

We have more orders today! GOL will be ordering 30 737 MAX 10s and 15 737 MAX 8s, adding up to a total of a future fleet of 135 aircraft making them the largest 737 MAX operator in Latin America!

Goshawk Aviation will also be ordering the 737 MAX as well, 20 of the MAX 8 variant. Hopefully we’ll see more orders!
