FAO New Members - Forum Respect

Instead of writing ‘for the attention of…’, I just used ‘FAO’ which is just a contraction of the prior. Makes it look nice in the titles. It is used in emails at workplaces etc

Problem is even I who would be quite fluent in English never heard of FAO before.

Found this online!

Att./Attn./Attention: for attention (Canada, US) ,
FTAO/Attn: for UK

For THE Attention Of! LOL! :)

FAO is used just as much, if not more. The ‘t’ is not used most of the time

Learn something every day! :)
I was taught ‘Attn.’ at school when we had to write English letters. A loooong time ago.
I wonder if that has changed.

Not so much. ‘Attn’ is used more just for important emails that apply to everybody. FAO/FTAO is used to get the attention of specifc groups of people, in this case new members

I’m not going to reply further (about this).

If Carson thinks it’s off, it’s off.
If he doesn’t do anything, I will continue until the point it is finally considered off topic.
