Hello folks, welcome to my second journey of the Fall 2025 trip. On this journey, I managed to fly my first time on Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Los Angeles Honolulu ![]()
on Hawaiian Flight 803. The flight was scheduled to depart at 10:00 AM on Sunday and we left at 10:02 AM. Then taxiing, taking off from LA, to cruising and before descent, we were given a form for us to complete and to return to the flight attendants which was the Agricultural Declaration Form. That is that we must declare any fruits
, vegetables
, or plants
that we bring to Hawaii as it is strictly prohibited to bring those items to the Hawaiian territory as it could put plants and animals at risk from what I have learned via the sources. Failure to declare those items will lead to a fine of up to $25,000 and even one year sentence in prison which is something that I would like to avoid. So preparing my trip to Honolulu, I have read that guidelines thoroughly and planned on not packing any fruits
, vegetables
nor plants
in my carry-on luggage and that I would have to check in my carry-on luggage as I will be claiming it after going through agricultural inspection upon arrival at Honolulu airport.
Apart from that, let’s get into details of what I did in Los Angeles. So after plane spotting in LA, I drove around on I-105, I-110, CA 110, I-210, I-710, CA 60, and explored Santa Monica, Universal Studios, Long Beach, Downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, Pasadena, and went out to eat at Hawaiian Barbecue
. What I ate was a Barbecue Ribs
with baked Mac n Cheese,
, Coleslaw, White Rice
and Hawaiian Fruit Punch
. On Saturday, I was expecting to explore the Great Wall of Los Angeles, Mario Warner Bros. and the View of the Hollywood, but I didn’t have anytime to do that since I was busy. So next time I travel to Los Angeles, I will explore that and even do more plane spotting.
And now going to doing my packing for Honolulu, I’ve completed my packing for Honolulu ![]()
. I checked out the hotel and left to return the car @ 8:10 AM before I caught the LAX People’s Mover to Terminal 6. Getting into Terminal 6 at LAX airport, I checked in my carry-on luggage as mentioned earlier, received my boarding pass, went through security and I was on my way to Gate 69A for my 10:00 AM flight to Honolulu. So here go the shots. I hope you enjoy it.

Here I am at Gate 69A LAX airport, my first time on Hawaiian Airlines B787-9 that was rolled out sometime last year or this past year and I learned that Hawaiian Airlines is merging with Alaska Airlines and that Alaska Airlines is planning on flying the B787-9 from
At 10:02 AM, we pushed back from Gate 69A, started up our GEnx engines, Hawaiian Airlines safety video played, and then we taxied to RWY 24L for takeoff. In this photo, we were taxiing past the TBIT Terminal.
As we prepared for takeoff, we hopped and lined up RWY 24L before we took off from LAX airport
And off we go we were airborne, after lifting off RWY 24L from LAX airport. We were off to Honolulu Hawaii
During our climb, we banked to our left, flying over Santa Barbara
We initially leveled off FL340. Cruising at FL340, I started listening to my favorite African songs
Then we have begun our descent onto Honolulu
Then we were on short final RWY 4R before we touched down into Hawaii
We touched down into HNL’s RWY 4R at 12:30 PM. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Honolulu
And we have arrived at Honolulu
That completes the second journey on Hawaiian Airlines Flight 803 from Los Angeles to Honolulu ![]()
