Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner III

Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner III

Full name: Fairchild SA227-AC/T Metro III

Hey IFC!

Today I have another aircraft request, this time the Fairchild SA227-AC/T Metro III, or for short, the Fairchild Metroliner III ! This short-range, passenger prop found success in all reaches of the world, and I believe that it would be a great addition to Infinite Flight!

What is the Metroliner?

Prototype construction of the Metro began in 1968 and the first flight was on August 26, 1969. The first model of Metroliner to become available to the market was the SA226-TC Metro and Metro II, with a total of 198 being ordered and built. I am, however, requesting the most popular aircraft of the family, the SA227-AC/T Metro III. In total, 291 aircraft were built, over the course of 20 years, when production finally ended in 2001. Over the 30 years they have been around, the Metroliner III has been seen in the liverys of around 50 airlines. Below I will include the airlines that have owned/owns 6 or more Metroliner III's. These aircraft are very popular in North America and in Oceania, with all of the operators operating in the area. They are used for a mix of freight and cargo operations, with a somewhat unique ability to easily convert between the two.

Why this would be a good addition to Infinite Flight

Personally I believe this would fill a gap in the aircraft within IF, left between the Q400 and C208. It would open up a lot more routes and regions in IF which would appeal to new users. This aircraft may not be everyoneโ€™s cup of tea, but personally I like it, it looks kinda goofy but still sleek. And with a bunch of cool liverys on it, it would be an awesome addition!

This request was mod approved, former duplicates were old with little information.

If you would like to see this in IF, make sure to drop a like! Even just leave a comment, these requests make far too long to make lol. Quick disclaimer, I donโ€™t believe that this should be added before the ATR, C series ect, but I think this would be cool to see in the somewhat distant future. Have a great day/evening :)

It looks really cool! You have also a really nice Thread for the request!

I would love this aircraft, but my votes are in a mess. Sorry.

No problem, thanks for the support :)

I think we should get planes reworked or other planes into the game like the bombardier c series than that

I agree with this, maybe after some other props are added, I would just like it sometime in IFโ€™s distant future

Regional aircraft are severely underrepresented in the sim. This needs to happen.
