FAA License revoked?

this guy landed on the displace threshold during an emergency landing so did he get his license removed?

I don’t understand the reason behind this topic. I’m sure you could google what happens when you land on a blast pad.

That would really hurt as a passenger. I don’t know if it should. It sounds pretty windy. I’ve seen some hard landings but man 😬

Hes a pilot on westjet for Canada. I don’t think he has a FAA license. FAA licenses are only for the US

And also he landed really short of the runway. Good thing nothing bad happened :)

Canadians don’t have an FAA license. Their “FAA” is called Transport Canada.

There was probably some loud yelling upon touchdown from the passengers.

Would they revoke for something like this?

Not sure if Transport Canada would, but it could be looked into.

Lol. They could leave you outside to freeze or get eaten by polar bears. lmao. Don’t think Canada has those, but it sounded good. 😂

I’d be interested in the cockpit conversation after a landing that hard.

Still not as bad as a Ryanair landing.

Pilots and passengers all rush for the restrooms immediately after de-boarding the aircraft.

If you start removing licenses at this rate. TS1 would be empty. Chill broooo

If a pilot does a hard landing, they won’t get their license revoked. The pilot will probably go through more training and that’s it :) Its just like speeding in your car, you make a mistake. You won’t get your drivers licence revoked. More likely, depending on how many traffic violations you have, you will have to retake the drivers course again. The airline industry can’t be that tough. Pilots are human too ;)

You don’t know the whole story. TAPA is an interesting place to land when it’s windy. The approach comes in between two hills that can cause some pretty fun turbulence on short finals.

Looks like he just dropped short. Certainly a howler of a landing and the guy/girl doing it was probably mortified but no harm done. The touchdown point would certainly have been a debrief point in my book but, if the approach was stable then it could just have been a down draft.

Bad day at the office but it happens to all of us some point. :D
