FAA Certification for GA Planes

I have a quick question. When Boeing and Airbus make their Transport Aircraft do they still go through certification testing? Also when GA planes (ex: C-172) get rolled out, do they go through certification testing like the 747-8F.

Certification Examples

Braking
Water Ingestion
Cold Weather
Hot Weather
Velocity Minimum Unstick
RTO\ Rejected Take-off
&
Stall Testing

Yes of course they do!

Yes. We are talking about the FAA. Nothing is ever skipped regardless of size, or application.

Thank you for this information, now I feel bad that the C-172 has to do this

Further more every component has to be certified.

Why? If it can’t do these tests then it’s not safe to use out in the real world where it will face these conditions.

How long does it take to certify light plane? It take like 8 months to year to certify jetliner.
