F9260 engine cowling malfunction.

F9260 (Frontier A320) had a engine cowling malfuntion during its flight. A Frontier flight headed to Tampa from Las Vegas was forced to return to McCarran International Airport on Friday morning. The flight took off shortly after 7 a.m. Frontier Airlines says that a cowling came loose and separated from the aircraft.

Was not an engine failure, looks like the issue that’s plagued the CFM Airbus planes has struck again.

Wow, I’m happy that cowling pieces didn’t puncture the fuselage like Southwest 1380.

Well that was a bit different, the Southwest incident had a catastrophic engine failure that caused an explosion which punctured the fuselage, this one just had the cowling open up mid-flight it seems, so not nearly as bad.
