Following the introduction of a new beta IFATC procedure, there will be some exceptions to my exclusive opening of CYUL.

My exclusive opening was planned from July 15th to August 15th so outside of these new obligations, I’ll continue to staff CYUL as soon as possible.

This month our IFATC team will be beta testing a new procedure which may be implemented in the future. Controllers will be required to continuously staff both airports on a featured route each day between the hours of 1200z-0000z prior to staffing the additional airports or an airport of their choosing. At a minimum, tower and ground control frequency should remain staffed at the two featured route airports.

Note: This is not applicable on days without a featured route (Week 4)

We are exploring this potential change in an effort to provide more predictable ATC presence, sustained traffic, and less defaulting to the same handful of airports being open each day.
