Expert Server Improvements Survey

Earlier this year, we gathered valuable feedback from the community about the Expert Server experience. Based on that feedback, we introduced several improvements, those being:

• Taxi throttle and speed limits at airports
• Send & Assign Autopilot when communicating with ATC
• Strobe light warnings
• Audible reminders for unread ATC messages

Implementing new features is one thing, but understanding whether they’ve actually improved the experience is another. That’s where you come in… again! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

We’ve put together a short survey to better understand the impact of these changes and gather your thoughts on the current state of the Expert Server now that some time has passed since they were implemented. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete, and your feedback will help us evaluate the effectiveness of these recent changes and if there’s any other room for improvement.

Great to see IF continuing to conduct these Surveys. Once the Expert Server changes were introduced, I thought, “There’s no way people make these mistakes now”. Turns out, they do!

As long as these warnings don’t give you a violation nothing will change.

I mean ignoring ATC messages would probably net you a violation. The strobe light warning shouldn’t give one imo.

Send and assign autopilot is one of the most annoying extra added buttons, it just creates one extra delay in responding to atc.

I still think having a Compulsory tutorial for new grade 3 pilots about how to use atc and what each instructions mean can be a useful method to avoid atc issuing many violations and pilots receiving them…

I love the feature for when the sky is busy because ATC expects immediate turns as if two pilots are in the cockpit.

I agree with Benny on this. At most the strobe warning should be annoying like driving without your seatbelt on.

I think this is a good idea. A compulsory tutorial for new Grade 3 pilots could help them understand ATC instructions better before entering controlled airspace. This would likely reduce violations, improve pilot-controller interactions, and make the Expert Server experience smoother for everyone.

Could you explain how it creates a delay? :joy: The button is right next to the other command and it helps pilots execute ATC commands earlier.

Maybe there’s an in between to be had? Like you get XP points deducted from the flight if you don’t do certain things like lights properly. Less severe than a violation, but there’s still some consequence.
