Expert Server IFC Requirement [Poll]

Maybe there can be a group on IFC that reviews the cases of all bans and establishes a time. They can recive the notes and then reach out to the individual in question and they can defend themselves if needed. Kind of like a police officer(IFATC or DEV) presents a case about someone (the user) to a judge (the reviewing board) and a determination is made. I understand that this sounds like more work but it’s better then a person being ghosted and then complaining on IFC about the IFATC who ghosted him on a public thread instead of in a PM like they should

That might work.

Reporting was removed because trolls were abusing it.

Grade 3 ,4 and 5 are pretty close since global released. It may just be approaching time to spread out hours required and stats.

I mean, there is a huge landing jump between 3-4. It’s not that bad though

I think what we need to do is expand our in-game Moderator team. Open an application, and interview each candidate, then give them permission to ghost trolls. Just my thoughts.

This could also be a solution, although it would require a vigorous vetting process just like IFATC has. I know anytime I see one of the DEVs on the global I know they have the power to report. I think giving certain individuals the power to ghost/report will help, but I still stand by my recommendation of having a review board for people to plead their cases and the review board could recommend action. I would be willing to spear head looking into this solution if it becomes popular. Writing SOPs and vetting the review board with the DEVs, IFATC and IFVARB. Perhaps a good name for it could be IFICAO.

How about a temporary report, kind of like an IF Court. Your out and about flying, and bam you see someone doing something they shouldn’t. So first of all you report them, then you come to the IFC Court to make your claim using screenshots and witnesses. We could have lawyers and everything. All the judges could be like vetted IFC members or maybe the regulars.

Of course this would only work if we had an IFC only server

I don’t think we should think of it as “court” but I would like to think that anyone who actually cares to stay a Grade Three on the Expert Server would have an IFC account. This would also play into not having individuals calling out IFATC members on threads and the resolution process could be done in the proper threads and channels and not muddle the forum with complaints. I believe that members should be held accountable for their actions and also be afforded the opportunity to explain those actions. If deemed by a review board that they need remediation they can recive it or be reinstated to their proper grade as applicable. I think this will only further pilot education and ensure trolls are delt with accordingly. There is IFATC of course but they are typically only at events and featured airports of the day. I still believe in vetting individuals who will look subjectively at what someone is doing and be able to report responsibly.

The moment you force anybody to do anything on IF is the same moment that Infinite Flight, LLC goes bankrupt. I dont think they would ever even consider this idea and I am surprised that anybody would.

@Patria Bankrupt?! Simply by asking users to make up a username and password would make Infinite Flight go bankrupt? I highly doubt that.

Maybe change the requirement to taking a simple test? Pass the test and you’ll have access to expert, similar to IFATC test.
If fail, no access to expert
This way only trolls who just like annoying people will be able to access the server.

Awesome idea. If that happens we could give all people feedback so they can improve and be less ghosted

I think this is a really good idea for the exact same reasons that @Olivier999 said above!

Good job!

@Aviator_Airbus I said force. And that is a poll option. There are three options one of the changes is asking and one of them is making, or “forcing” in order to join the expert. Yes I believe forcing them would. That’s my opinion. If I was told I had to have a community forum I would cancel and move to Xplane mobile. Or desktop.

@Patria By force, I do t mean like shoving there face in a bowl of noddles and say eat. I’m just saying I’m saying they if something like this is implemented, then they’ll just have to make an account, only takes like 30 seconds, not the end of the world. Most online games already require you to make an account, so it shouldn’t be to much of a problem for people to sign up.

@Aviator_Airbus and @Patria please take this to a PM if you are going to continue this

I understand. But if there is a requirement than they would have to do it so they would be forced by english definition. I know that word might seem aggressive in a sense but perhaps others might interpret it like so and not bother or be discouraged. I do understand your intentions though :).

@BennyBoy_Alpha what exactly are we taking to PM? This is totally relevant to the conversation? This is a friendly dialogue.
