When I was planning my flight to London, I was making sure I had the correct amount of fuel for the journey and I realised that the 350K has 34 hours of fuel![]()

That’s not correct. The fuel estimate in the menu is always inaccurate, and somehow more so on the newer planes in the game.
The actual range of the aircraft is around 24 hours or so on full load. For Sydney to London, just go with max and that should be fine (however some people have run out when using AP+)
Should I report it as a bug?
Even if the fuel estimate in the menu is incorrect, the A35K fuel burn is shockingly low. While some might view this as a good thing and “extra range”, it is just far far too unrealistic. With older aircraft, fuel burn seemed much more realistic than with new aircraft, which is rather disappointing.
Yesterday I did a full flight from AKL-HKG in the A35K, without using AP+ for a single minute - the entire flight was done on manual. My TOW was 262.8T and landing weight was 213.0T (I estimated around 211.5T after doing some pre-flight testing, but my already conservative estimate was not conservative enough…). Flight time was 10:20, so I burnt 4817kg/h. I did cruise at realistic altitudes, starting off at FL360, climbing to FL380 4hrs into the flight, FL400 around 6:45 into the flight, and then back down to FL380 for the rest of the cruise heading through Philippines airspace (can’t cruise at FL400 there).
THE A359 BURNS MORE FUEL IN GAME! On the same route a couple days back, with a significantly lighter payload, I was burning 5290kg/h (and I average a little more than 5400kg/h on most A359 flights in game).
I understand that it isn’t easy to get accurate fuel flow vs N1, weight, altitude data, but I’m sure the dev team can do a lot better with a ballpark guess. IRL fuel flow on the A35K is usually around 6.8-7.2 tons per hour, while on the A359 it’s around 5.8 to 6.2 tons per hour.
Plus, for some reasons cruising lower is more efficient in the sim than cruising high, when irl it is vice-versa at the appropriate aircraft weights. I am not sure where we can get the data from to help the devs fix the fuel burn curves on both aircraft, but surely we can come together to do better than the devs have done with the A35K (the A359 is fine for now…).
Last thing I have to say is that while I think the A359 physics are great and cruising at the irl altitudes at the same gross weights as would be done irl is very realistic, it seems that the Infinite Flight A35K feels a little bit too heavy at weights the real aircraft would be comfortable cruising at. For example, on a past AKL-HKG flight I took, our takeoff weight was somewhere between 285T and 295T and we started at FL360, step climbing to FL380 2:55 into the flight, at around 265T gross weight. The A35K in Infinite Flight feels just it is just about comfortable cruising at FL360 at that weight, and definitely not at FL380.
While the devs have done an amazing job getting this aircraft to us, it is definitely lacking a little bit in terms of cruise physics and fuel flow. Hopefully someone will be able to provide some information to improve some of these aspects.
I packed full fuel on the 35K from SYD-JFK and used ap+.midway between africa and south america on the Atlantic.i ran out of fuel…is this a bug?
A few users have reported running out of fuel when using AP+, but the AP+ fuel burn has been scuffed in some way since it released.
Uhhh why are you going down there doing Sydney to JFK? Routing should be northeast over the Pacific and the US. Going that direction and looping up is a lot of extra distance (we’re talking an extra 3500-4000nm or so distance, over 40% the great circle distance), and also going against the winds.
I’m actually one of the people this has happened to. I trusted the fuel estimate shown in the menu and loaded enough fuel for about 21–22 hours of flight, based on my SimBrief flight plan.
When I came back, to my surprise, the aircraft was still in AP+, but I was greeted with an “Out of Fuel” message, even though I should have had plenty of fuel left.
I’m giving it another shot now, this time flying from London to Sydney, so we’ll see how it goes. Hopefully, I actually make it this time! ![]()
If you used this and imported directly into the game, it would’ve automatically loaded the amount of fuel Simbrief suggested (albeit under AP+ you probably would’ve run out because…AP+
)
i wanted to challenge myself and get more xp
