Exam season in Hawaii (FINAL FLIGHT)

Good early morning ladies and gentlemen from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport where I had just arrived from Honolulu, Hawaii 🏝️🐢🌺 on an American Airlines Boeing 777-200ER after a not so pleasant flight, it’s was long with barely enough food for a long haul flight but now it’s time for a shorter flight. I’m here at DFW to catch my last flight back home to Miami 🏝️😎 on Americans Airbus A321 once again in main cabin and I’m glad your joining me on todays trip. Before I went to my gate, I decided to stop by a Dunkin’ Donuts not far from the gate I had just arrived in and got a bacon egg and cheese along with a iced coffee ☕️ while not the most elegant breakfast ever, it’s way better than what AA gave us on that flight. But now I gotta transfer from the A gates over to the D gates where my MIA flight is departing from and the best way to do that is with the skylink train I adore this thing and it doesn’t take long to go between them either. Walking is a different story. But now it’s off to gate D25 for my flight to the 305! 🏝️😎

Waiting at gate D25 is N416AN, a 4 year old Airbus A321 built back in February 2020. This aircraft had just came in from Anchorage, Alaska 🏔️❄️ definitely looking forward to visiting as well especially after Hawaii! 🏝️🐢🌺 now your probably asking?

Why did you take the A321 flight while you could’ve stayed here in DFW for an extra 2 hours and fly back on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner or another B772?

Well on BOTH flights all the good window seats were taken and I love flying domestic wide bodies but a good window seat takes priority in my book so that’s why. But boarding has just started so lets get on this bird!

Since this isn’t one of AAs premium aircraft, upon boarding you will be greeted with their 20, 2-2 arranged Collins Aerospace MiQ cradle seats making up their domestic first cabin and behind that are the remaining 170 main cabin seats utilizing the Collins Aerospace Meridian slimlines in a 3-3 configuration. The first 5 rows in the forward economy section along with the exit row in aft section are sold as main cabin extra. My seat is in the 4th row in the rear section to be specific, 27F it provides a good wing view and the seat itself is a bit on the tighter side which kind of sucks but it’s alright I mean this is only like a 2 and a half hour flight so it’s not the end of the world. But soon enough boarding was complete and so many people dressed in tropical clothing including myself since I obviously just came in from Honolulu but it’s off to DFWs runway 17C for take off!

I gotta admit, take offs in the A320 family planes are always fun especially hearing those IAE V2500s make such tunes!

Last goodbye over the Dallas Fort Worth metro along with a view over both Dallas airports, Love Field and DFW before we continue heading east towards Miami! 🏝️😎

Our cruising altitude for todays journey over to Florida 🏝️🐊🍊 will be FL350 and the crew came around with their service which consisted of mini pretzels 🥨 and a beverage choice which I went with Coke. Now this is EXACTLY what you need for this flight, call me crazy but you don’t necessarily need a hot meal on this flight. Yes maybe a buy on board menu containing cold meals would be nice to have but this service is exactly meant for these flights not overnight long hauls. The crew also were in a very happy mood with one having very special plans once on the ground in Miami 🏝️😎 and so with everybody else around me so 5 stars today! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I guess AA has redeemed themselves from my previous flight. As for the entertainment, this aircraft is equipped with ViaSat KA-band satellite Wi-Fi and you’ll need to download something before take off, buy the internet or stream something for free since this plane does NOT have personal screens something which was axed back when this plane got this Oasis retrofit. Luckily, Americans library was extensive and had lots of good choices and hey it’s been a while since I last watched Barbie so let’s sit back, relax and watch it! 😂

About an hour and a half into the flight and an halfway through the movie, we began turning southwards towards MIA after flying directly east going through parts of the Florida panhandle even flying directly above our capital city of Tallahassee.

Soon enough the movie was over and it was time to begin the approach into the Magic City! 🏝️😎 now before we continue on, I’d like to mention the people on board all wearing tropical clothes, well one of them was my seat mate stuck in the middle and he asked what my plans where in Miami and I told him “nothing just returning home after a trip to Hawaii” and he said ah cool and that he and a whole group of friends were going on a cruise onboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas and I said cool as well as I don’t cruise often but it was fun when I did it. And he basically said he also wanted to enjoy a few things around the area before the big day tomorrow and overall me and him got along well and if he is reading this,

Have a great cruise!

Yesterday afternoon while waiting for my flight to DFW back in Honolulu, I saw that MIA was doing normal operations like RWYs 8R, 8L and 9 but apparently something changed and all the sudden it’s reverse ops and we would be landing on the DIAGONAL runway and since we are on the right side, we got this EPIC view over Downtown Miami! 🏝️😎 didn’t expect this but I’m for sure not complaining about it.

And just like that, welcome to sunny Miami, Florida! 🏝️😎🐊🍊 and now onto the flight it was great, exactly what I expected from American, the crew were great, my seat mate was cool, the cabin was fairly clean, had a good time watching Barbie and the service while once again kind of underwhelming, it is 100% tolerable on such flight you truly don’t need much to make a 2 and a half hour flight perfect. It’s short so don’t bother adding extra service if it isn’t necessary but definitely change the service on flights between DFW and Hawaii! 😂

We disembarked into MIAs iconic north terminal or concourse D where American decided to claim one day and say,

THIS IS OUR LAND!

Sorry for the terrible picture, our arrival gate D36 didn’t have that good views of the aircraft which really sucks but moving on, There is no need for any extra security checks despite originating back in Honolulu, and once again my bags luckily didn’t get stranded back in DFW or even back in HNL and soon was off to my car to eat a little Peruvian restaurant not too far from the airport since it’s pretty much lunch time now before finally hitting the road for home! I’m glad you joined on this May trip to Hawaii 🏝️🐢🌺 stay tuned for maybe a spotting or ramp topic here at MIA maybe next week or something and keep an extra eye out for June as I go on probably my most exciting trip so far and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! 😉👋

I’m glad you enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and back @NonStopsAviation. On June 7-28, I’m planning on traveling from St. Louis to Atlanta, Los Angeles and Miami as my mini summer 2024 vacation spending a week in each city
