The Training and Expert modes in Infinite Flight feel worlds apart. In Training, everything goes as expected, with clear instructions and a controlled setting, which is perfect for beginners. But when I move to Expert, it’s way harder than I anticipated. The demands are much higher, and as someone still learning, it feels overwhelming to keep up.
What frustrates me the most is how restricted the pilot feels compared to the ATC. Even in situations where I know I could make a different move to avoid a violation - like during an approach - the air traffic control system doesn’t give me the flexibility to do so. I’m stuck with strict commands, and I often end up with violations simply because there’s no room to adjust my route or descent. It feels like the ATC has more freedom, while the pilot is left with limited options, which makes the experience more rigid and less realistic.
So… Why is the Expert Mode so rigid and more careful than the Training mode?
The simple reason is that this is an ‘expert’ server. All ATCs have undergone rigorous training, which is why pilots are required to obey the controllers
Hi, You should always have scope to avoid violations when interacting with Expert Server ATC. If that scope is removed somehow, by some specific anomaly, then, as mentioned, violations can be successfully appealed.
But the system is designed with the expectation that you should never be trapped by the system into receiving a violation beyond your own control of avoiding the violation.
