Why do people hate the train there

On the way to Disney in 2009 missed a 7PM jetBlue flight from JFK They said we could catch one to laguardia an hour later and missed that one as well. We just took another one at 3 AM. In 2017 we missed the Delta 1 hour policy by 5 minutes because the JFK air train took 45 min to get to the station ridiculous, so they wouldn’t let us thru :( we also had to pay well lets say a pretty penny to reschedule another flight from Laguardia. 3 weeks ago We were the last people to board because the TSA line was so long it was ridiculous for the morning (6 AM) the line was super long the worst ive ever seen so that made us late

Sounds like a good restaurant idea. Eating those TSA bins is a good appetizer

I was at Kuala Lumpur International (WMKK, KLIA1), watching France and Uruguay play each other in the World Cup. My gate was at C12, which was clearly stated on my boarding pass, but I managed to go to the wrong gate somehow (C37) and without even looking at which airline was operating from the gate, I proceeded to watch the second half while lining up for boarding. I had just finished watching the first half with a bunch of random people at a bar, so yeah.

I missed my flight after the gate staff told me I was at the wrong gate, but luckily I got to stay at the airport Golden Lounge for the next 24 hours since I’m underage to get myself a hotel.

Well, I didn’t actually missed my flight but almost did when I was coming back from San Salvador to Atlanta via Fort Lauderdale in Spirit Airlines a month ago.

So we got to the airport 3 and a half hours early before our departure time since it was an international flight. We checked in, and went to the new 3rd floor where restaurants are on the Spotting area at MSLP. That’s where people say last goodbye to their families and eat while watching airplanes Takeoff or Land.

(Spirit A320 carring my grandparents to the gate and to get ready for the return flight to Fort Lauderdale).

So, we said goodbye to my uncles and proceed to immigration with an hour left and the line was full and we also had to go through security. It was actually my fault that we almost missed our flight since I was recording the plane were my grand parents were coming (yes we got on the same plane that they boarded from KFLL to MSLP and we was doing the return flight back to KFLL).

After going through that loooong line (which took us about 45 minutes, we had 15 minutes left before the departure time! As we go through immigration, the officer was eating a Chocolate Donut with Coffee (yep, I was hungry and also staring at his meal) and he was doing his work slowly, and also was asking my little sisters the Time Tables and I was like: what does this have to do with us leaving the country. I was so mad and disappointed to that stupid officer and me because I was going to literally make my family of 5 miss our flight and Spirt charging us even more money and wait another 4 days until the next flight because my mom and dad had to work 2 days later.

So, as the officer finally finished checking our passports and permanent residence card, we went through security and finally ran to the gate which was really far away and also had to be checked again to see if we didn’t have no liquids.

We finally reached the gate 1 minute before departure and Spirit gate agents told us that we can’t board because the aircraft was ready to close it’s gates. We was sad and stressed until finally the pilot told the gate agent to let us in and we finally got on the plane happy and also delayed the flight by 3 minutes.

Also in FR24 it shows the yellow mark as delayed (provably cause of us):

I did see the aircraft door closed in front of my own eyes, twice,

first was due to traffic jam, I arrived at the gate watching the door to my aircraft being closed and then the bridge slowly retracted.

second one the boarding announcement speaker in Starbucks did not work. This occasion was rare as Lion Air decided to board 17 minutes earlier than the schedule. While me knowing that this airlines will always going to be delayed, took my time sipping my hot caramel macchiato. Exactly about 2 minutes prior to the original schedule, I showed up at the gate, and once again, watched the aircraft door closed right through the gate window.

Connecting Flight from Muscat to Trivandrum. I missed it, had a 3 hour delay in LHR. Never trust Oman air or any airline that’s not in the top 10. I should have flown emirates or Qatar

Oh yea. I was flying from Indiana to Los Angeles. I had a 0715 and I live 1 1/2 hours away and I am NOT a morning person. And I woke up around 545(yes I set 10 alarms literally and still slept through them). So what ended up happening was DL put me on a flight to La Guardia then off to LAX

hahaha, well that happened 12 years ago, and I haven’t heard about capt Edward yet at that time :D

Mine was a nearmiss with my mom, flying indonesia airasia when they still got their 737 from SUB to CGK, There was a huge rain and flood that made a big traffic jam… Luckily the flight was delayed by 30 minutes so we can make it…

I’ve missed 2 flights so far…
I was flying with former US Airways from San Juan to Washington, DC with a connection flight in Philadelphia, but we departed SJU late due to some bad weather in PHL, so needless to say we missed our connection so we had to sleep at the airport until next morning to reschedule.
And another time I was flying with A’A from Baltimore BWI to San Juan also with connection flight in Philadelphia. There was APU problems so we sat at the gate for like half hour. They couldn’t figured the problem so they started engines at the gate then pushed back (it was a CRJ). Layover time was like 30min so I knew I was gonna missed my connection. After arriving at PHL I rushed to my gate only to see my beloved A330 being pushed back for departure. Had to wait like 2 hrs for the next flight.

As you can see from my username, I’m deaf. I missed my first and only flight so far (knock on wood) at KJFK. I was flying with Jetblue. I had an hour layover there after flight from KROC. I found the gate then proceeded to the food court to get something to eat and went back to the waiting area right next to the gate.

I didn’t know that JetBlue had changed the gate. They didn’t put the flight information on TV, list of departures and google were only information I had. I saw that they changed the gate last few minutes before the depart time so I ran to the correct gate which was only 2 gates away. I was too late, the door had been shut closed. Plane was still there, getting ready to get pushed back.

So I explained my situation to the agent. They put me on different flight to Las Vegas instead of Palm Springs and gave me $100 on next JetBlue flight. I tried to have them put me on flight to Los Angeles or Long Beach, but they were full. So the lesson I learned is to check with the agent so they know that there is a deaf passenger who can’t hear the announcement.

Very close to but it wasn’t exactly my fault so I guess that’s a benefit but it still made me panic so much.

Me, My brother and Mum had booked tickets to London to see some family again. We where flying Qantas which we had never had an issue with and I still think is a great airline. We had to fly BNE-MEL-LHR. We got the airport on time and everything was looking normal but then the flight was delayed by 30 mins, which is fine because we had a 1 and a half hour layover, the flight was delayed by another 30 mins. At this point we are panicking that we will miss the London flight. The plane is then delayed by another hour. Apparently something was wrong with it and they had to switch aircraft, which is understandable, I would rather be late then have crashed on the way. As soon as the second aircraft arrived they instantly started boarding, We had asked the gate agent what will happend if we miss the connection and he said don’t worry I will alert the crew, which he thankfully did. Once we had reached cruising the flight attendant came up to us and said “we heard you are catching the London flight?” We said yes and then she explained that there was also about 10 other people on this flight that where also catching the London flight! So she said they called the airport and we might be able to make it! We where all relieved! But then we started circling Melbourne and they explained over the P.A that due to heavy traffic we will have to circle for a bit. Which has now got us panacking again. We land and sprint off the plane to see a Gate agent with a sign with out flight number on it. There was around 5 buggy’s waiting for everyone and then on the way to the hate on the departure screens we saw “flight closed” and hoped they where still waiting for us, And they where! They held up the plane by 1 hour! Which is amazing! I thought after 30 mins maximum they would of just left and rebooked is!

We learned a lesson that flight to always have a layover that’s isn’t shorter than 2 hours!

Amazing. They obviously know how to handle delays.

So here is a story from KCLT after our AA A330 landed from PUJ (punta canna) our gate was not available so we waited on the ground for a good 25-30 min once we got to the gate deplaning was crazy as it always is on A heavy airliner once we were through customs we had to go through security and ETC. And when we got to the gate our plane had left so I was sad because I was so tired but I was happy I was possibly going to spend the night At a huge Airport and miss school
But some people backed out at the last second and we got the last flight of the night to KCVG on PSA Airlines

I have once. When I normally go from Singapore to India to visit family we take the jet airways flight in the afternoon/evening. This time however, we booked Singapore airlines and I was so used to the jet airways timing that I showed up about 5 hours late! Luckily I’m a platinum member with Singapore airlines so they rebooked me for no extra charge!

I’ve got an embarrassing one. So on June 30th I was scheduled on BOS-EWR-LHR on United, the first departing a scheduled 6:58. So driving the 5 hours to BOS, the plane seemed to be on time. Then we got a plane change, and that plane happened to be already delayed an hour. 3 hours later. Plane change again. This 737-800 was already 2 hours late. It was flying EWR-PIT-EWR-BOS-EWR. So after leaving PIT and arriving in EWR, it was still 2 hours delayed. Then surprise, surprise it got caught up in Newark for an extra hour, and by the time it arrived in Boston it was 2 and a half hours late. So while waiting for the plane, we talked to an agent as our connection in Newark was 2 hours, and looking at FR24, my second flight always leaves at least 25 minutes late, so we didn’t know if it was better to rebook or try to make it. Gate agent tells us there’s no way we make it. We rebook on the 8 am out of EWR the next morning. So our 738 arrives in Newark and we deboard. It’s 10:10, the scheduled departure time of our 764 to LHR. Except we gave up our seats. So we sprint across C to Gate 120 to see if the 764 was still there. And we made it there, our 764 still sitting at the gate, the jet bridge attached. So we frantically talk to the gate agent, but nope, our seats have been sold already. Watching that 764 push back (at 10:40) was painful. United didn’t supply anything but food vouchers so I ended up pulling an all nighter at Newark. Ouch.
