Emulator compatibility

I would like to know what prevents emulator from running the game like on a iPad or phone?

What do you mean by emulator? Normally, you wouldn’t need that if you’re on an iPad or iPhone. You can download the app via the App Store.

I forgot to mention I am on PC and play via bluestacks. I would like to know the technical reasons on why it doesn’t support on bluestacks or any other emulators?

Because Infinite Flight is developed for native iOS and Android devices.
Simple as that.

Bluestacks is technically android and one of the few emulators for it to be google play certified not officially but it works. I am interested to know why the ui and elements of the game are different compared to the native counterparts?

It’s technically not.
If it was, it wouldn’t need to “fake” it’s identity to say it’s for example a Samsung Galaxy S22, OnePlus One or similar as it is now.

Because of what I said earlier. The architecture is entirely different. That’s why Infinite Flight don’t work to be blunt. All the errors we’re seeing on our side that comes from Bluestacks are errors that appears on a core level. This isn’t normal behaviour :)

I have tried other games like xplane mobile and rfs both works similarly as on native devices. So what makes this game to behave differently?

You’re asking the wrong party.
IF is working just fine on the platforms it’s made for.
What an emulator does had nothing to do with IF.
Maybe you should ask the people behind the emulator, since that software is having issues. 😉

I’m not here to offend anyone. I know infinite flight is not made for emulators. However, Infinite flight has key binds on the control section which indicates the game somehow identifies it’s an emulator.

Those are for joysticks that can be connected separately.

How can I do that?

Nothing is made for emulators.
In an ideal case, apps don’t even know they are running in an emulator.
Apparently the emulators aren’t doing a good enough job, which causes issues.
Maybe it’s impossible to keep up with all the Android updates and changes, but the fact is that the emulator is the issue.

Do you think emulators may lack any process or service which runs on native devices? If yes, can it be solved by rooting the emulator or such?

I think that if it was easy, the makers of emulators would have already been able to solve the issues, but you should really ask them.

Thanks for the support and I will enquire with them about it. Hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead.

You can connect a controller directly to your device via USB (through a USB-C hub, for example), through Bluetooth, or through a PC/Mac running a 3rd-party app powered by Infinite Flight’s Connect API. Note that your PC/Mac and IF device need to be on the same network with Infinite Flight Connect enabled in the app’s General settings for the last option to work.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately I don’t have a suitable device to play this game other than phone, but I will defintely try it out. I do hate gyro controls on phones and hence why I used to play on bluestacks.

I would like to see a new feature simiar to aleron cordination but can also lock y axis or yaw. It can help it to feel more realistitc on tail section. Only on ground but it disables once the aircraft is on runway.

I’d recommend casting a vote for the feature request linked below.

If there isn’t anything else we can help you with for now, I’ll go ahead and close this topic :)
